Pálffy Manor came alive with wine and love. The 3rd edition of the Cesta Jurom do VIAJUR festival attracted hundreds of visitors. During the warm Saturday, they were able to enjoy the finest offerings from VIAJUR winery and Pálffy Manor alongside a rich accompanying programme.
The VIAJUR wine festival once again opened the gates of Pálffy Manor to visitors seeking culture and fine wine. Throughout the day, the courtyard of the Renaissance manor was filled with a relaxed atmosphere infused with the aroma of wine and gastronomic specialities prepared by the chefs of Pálffy Manor. The rich accompanying programme offered numerous activities for children and adults alike.

Something for Everyone
The event on the first Saturday of May attracted more than 800 visitors of all ages. In addition to wine tasting from VIAJUR winery, combined with a tour of the original Pálffy cellars, visitors could also enjoy a prepared cultural programme. Dance performances and a fashion show were provided by the historical group Fringia, which transported visitors back to the Renaissance era. The programme also included sightseeing rides in stylish vintage cars of Czechoslovak manufacture. The entire day was hosted by Milan “Junior” Zimnýkoval, who interviewed key figures from VIAJUR winery and Pálffy Manor. A wide range of activities was also prepared for the youngest visitors, who enjoyed workshops, face painting, and could play in the children’s zone. The programme culminated with performances by Jana Andevská and Peter Lipa, whose hour-long concert concluded the third edition of the Cesta Jurom do VIAJUR music and wine festival.

The Love Story of Pálffy Manor Comes to Life Again
The symbolic highlight of the one-day festival was the ceremonial unveiling of the statues of the manor’s patrons – Katarína Pálffy and Štefan Ilešházi. Katarína and Štefan endured long separations and difficult trials during their lives, yet their love remained strong and fresh as in the beginning. Their beautiful love story now comes to life again in the courtyard of Pálffy Manor. There they stand side by side once more, just as they did during their lifetime. Štefan with a sabre in hand, a symbol of their strong affection that overcame all separations, and Katarína with a fan, a symbol of the fresh breeze that always filled their relationship. Legend has it that anyone who comes to the statues of the manor’s patrons and touches the sabre and fan will find their love remains equally strong and full of life forever.
We thank all visitors and look forward to the next edition.
We Will Celebrate Fine Wine and Food in Farná as Well
After three successful editions of the Cesta Jurom do VIAJUR festival, this year the festival is also moving to Farná – the second estate of VIAJUR winery. On Saturday, 18 May, visitors will be able to enjoy the finest offerings from VIAJUR winery and Pálffy Manor, this time in the picturesque setting of a wine-growing region in southern Slovakia. Local artists and craftsmen will be featured, performances by Polemic and Anna and the Barbies will take place, and children will be entertained by a varied programme of workshops focused on traditional crafts and a straw maze.
